Model Beverly Peele

With her exotic face and a height of just an inch under six feet, Beverly Peele was destined to become a model. Indeed, she's one of the last great fashion models, having been at the top of the profession in the nineties.

Her work includes ads for Ralph Lauren and Chanel, Donna Karan.  Not to mention 250 magazine covers!

Personal demons got in the way of her career, and she's had a few rough breaks, but she's found a way to persevere.  She managed to find work as an actress, appearing in TV shows such as "Sister, Sister" and "Girlfriends."  She also had a role in Sweet Friggin' Daisies, a 2002 movie starring Zooey Deschanel (an earlier honoree on this blog).

For all her bad breaks, though, it's a safe bet that Beverly Peele will always find a way to survive.
